Kay Frick

January 19, 1950 — October 17, 2022

.On Monday, October 17, 2022, Kay Frick, née Moriyama, loving mother of two, dedicated grandmother of four, passed away. Kay was born in Okinawa, Japan and was the oldest child of the late Choei Moriyama and Haru (Agarihokama) Moriyama.

Kay was a respiratory therapist before earning her bachelor’s degree in medical technology from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. She retired as a medical technologist in 2005 to care for her grandchildren, to whom she devoted the rest of her life.

Having lived all over the world, Kay enjoyed international cuisines almost as much as the people she befriended wherever she went. She was quick to make lifelong friends and enjoyed socializing, traveling and, most importantly, being Nana to her four grandchildren.

Among those who will always smile at her memory are her daughters, Lisa DeFrank (Matt) and Christine Terrazas; four grandchildren, Madison, Joshua, Caden and Isabella. She is also survived by her siblings: Michiko Ito, Sueko Ihara, Mieko French, Choken Moriyama and Asahide Moriyama.
