Kenneth Jay Clark, Sr.

Kenneth J. Clark, Sr, 84 of 2719 South Roan Street, Johnson City died Sunday, March 21, 2010 in the James H. Quillen VAMC at Mountain Home. Mr. Clark was a native of Johnson City, TN, was a former resident of Peoria, IL and returned to Johnson City in 1994 to make his home. He was a son of the late Harce A. and Roma Helen Hammer Clark. Mr. Clark was retired from Caterpillar Equipment Co. and was a member of the Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. He is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife Dorothy Clark in 2005; a son, David Clark; two grandsons, Jamie Clark and Brian Clark; one brother, Billy Joe Clark; and one sister Joyce Houston. Survivors include: three sons, Kenneth J. Clark, Jr. of Manito, Il., Drew Clark of Chillicothe, Il, and Robert Clark of Johnson City; one daughter, Roma Clark Walker of Chillicothe, Il.; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside funeral service for Kenneth J. Clark, Sr. will be conducted at 2 PM Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Mountain Home (TN) National Cemetery. Rev. Sarah Wells will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by the VFW Post 4933 of Kingsport,TN. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 PM Friday for the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Good Samaritan Ministries, 100 N. Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601 or to Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, South Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601
