Mr. Larry E. Richey, 56 of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Richey was a native of Buford, Georgia. He was the son of the late Robert Richey and Charlotte Richey Parker. In addition to his parents one brother, Bob Richey and one brother-in-law, Ricky Brown also preceded him in death. Mr. Richey was a self-employed carpenter. He was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan. Survivors include: his loving wife, Deana Richey of the home; one daughter, Shari Parker and her husband Ricky of Winder, Georgia; one son, Anthony Richey and his wife Tiffany of Winder, Georgia; one step-daughter, Melissa Moore; two brothers, William Richey and his wife Cyndee and Michael 'Randy'? Richey; one sister, Brenda Richey Brown; four grandchildren, Paige Parker, Angel Parker, Ricky Parker, Jr. and Cade Richey; one great grandchild, Abigail Parker; two step-grandchildren, Haley Foister and Hannah Foister; the mother of his children, Mary Litton; mother and father-in-law, Susan Hawkins and Walter Whaley; special friends, Debbie Doan, Uzoma Alu, Remetha Loving, Whitney Snyder, Peggy Shuffler, Ray Stallard and Jerry Sloan. The funeral services for Mr. Larry E. Richey will be conducted at 8 PM Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Lon Tobin will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Thursday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:15 AM Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, Tn. 37601.
