Lavenia Ann Claman

Lavenia Ann Claman, age 62, a native of Johnson City, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011 at her residence in Tulsa, OK. Mrs. Claman was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Howard Yelton and Martha Winters Yelton. She was of the Methodist Faith. Mrs. Claman was an avid reader, and loved writing and more about her work can be seen at her website, www.aspiringwriters.biz. She was a member of the American Writers Association. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Claman was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Yelton and Wade Yelton. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Michael Claman, Sr., of Tulsa, OK; one son, Michael Claman, Jr., of Senoia, GA; three grandchildren, Michael Claman, III, Kennedy Claman, and Ty Claman; two brothers, Ronnie Yelton and wife Kim, of Johnson City, TN, and Richard Yelton and wife Pauline, of Pensacola, FL; two sisters, Frances Street, of Johnson City, TN and Barbara Crincoli and husband Ted, of Swansean, IL; one brother-in-law, Virgil Claman, Jr., of Piney Flats, TN; two sister-in-laws, Rose Claman, of Blountville, TN and Patsy Schierkolk, of Carthage, NC; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, March 11, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Tony Trott officiating. Music will be under the direction of Gary McCurry. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 12, 2011, in the Washington County Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Virgil Claman, Billy Claman, Jeff Claman, Doug Street, Keith Yelton, Ted Crincoli, Dustin Street, and Bobby Owens. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Saturday morning at 10:30 am. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of choice.
