Lee A. Lindsley

September 3, 1914 — March 21, 2008

Lee A. Lindsley, 93, Johnson City, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at Northside Hospital. Mr. Lindsley was a native of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin and had lived in Johnson City for the past several years. He was a son of the late Louis and Carrie Davis Lindsley and was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Meador Lindsley. Mr. Lindsley was a retired minister and was the Dallas County Chaplain at the time of Jack Rubys incarceration and kept a journal of his conversation with Mr. Ruby. He was a member of Rotary International. Survivors include four daughters, Gail Smelkoff and her husband, Bob, Fairview, TX, Jewel Lynch and her husband, Louis, Aiken, SC, Faye Fox, Baldwinsville, NY and Cheryl Patterson and her husband, Harry, Johnson City; three sisters, Mildred Rainbolt, Clermont, FL, Donna Carpenter, Muskegon, Michigan and Elaine Vandermeiden, Muskegon, Michigan; three tep-daughters, Kimi Tate, Gretchen Meador and Connie Meador; eleven grandchildren, three step grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Brite Divinity School, 2855 South University Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76129.
