Lena Mae Gray

Lena Mae Gray, 87, resident of Appalachian Christian Village since 1996, died March 6, 2008 after a lengthy Alzheimers illness. She was a native of the Boones Creek community and the daughter of the late Charlie and Lori Adams Mitchell and the wife of the late Cecil Earl Gray. She was a member of the Boones Creek Christian Church where she was an active member until her illness. Surviving are her daughter, Naomi Shell Morrell, Gray; two sisters, Evelyn Blevins, Kingsport and Ruth Kiser, Gray; one brother, William (Bill) Mitchell, Gray and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Alice Katherine Gray in 1947 and Clara Sue Sells in1993; five brothers, Dewey, C.J., Joe, Basil and Bob Mitchell and one sister, Mary Nell Brown. A funeral service for Mrs. Gray will be conducted at 3 PM Sunday, March 9, 2008 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Mr. Dick Morris Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Boones Creek Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
