Lois Katherine Lowe Hill

January 17, 1928 — February 14, 2013

Lois Katherine Lowe Hill, age 85, of Johnson City, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013, at her residence. She was a native of Johnson County who had lived in Elkhart, Indiana, from 1950 to 1986,where she was a Union Steward for the UAW with the Exel Corporation for eighteen years. She was the daughter of the late Dewey William and Anna Crosswhite Lowe. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by: three brothers, Joseph, Bobby and Granville Lowe; and sister, Hazel Lowe. She attended Highland Baptist Church with her husband. She loved Gardening and loved flowers. She enjoyed embroidery and loved to sing in church. She had a special love for her granddaughters and great granddaughters and her many nieces and nephews. Survivors include: her husband of sixty-seven years, John L. Hill, of the home; daughter, Vicki Sue Hill Early and her husband, Gary, of Fort Wayne, IN; three sisters, Shelby Jean Green, Johnson City, Mary Krogmire, Butler, and Peggy Ann Roark and her husband, Dean, Mountain City; two grandchildren, Ashley Gaugler Chaney and her special friend, Ed, and Kimberly Gaugler; two great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Emerie Chaney. The family would like to express a special thank you to her sisters, Shelby and Peggy, and Weatherly, her Hospice nurse, for the special care and Mary Krogmire and niece, Sandy, for their care. The funeral service for Mrs. Lois Katherine Lowe Hill will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday, February 17, 2013, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. Wayne White will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Dean Roark, Billy Wilson, Gary Early, Todd Rustin, John Robinson, Randy Prevette and Danny Purdue. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Garland and Edward Palyo. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 9 AM Monday in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 8:15 AM Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Morris-Baker prior to the service.
