Lonnie E. Miller, 80, 1521 Sylvan Street, died Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Miller was a Watauga, TN native and had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was a son of the late William Lincoln and Ruby Gregg Miller. Two brothers, Carl Miller and Harry Miller and one sister, Opal Powell, preceded Mr. Miller in death. He was retired from Summers Hardware. Mr. Miller was a US Army WWII veteran. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Betty Casteel Miller; two sons, Roger S. Miller and his wife, Rhonda, Johnson City, Ricky Miller and his wife Theresa, Johnson City; two sisters, Helen Van Hoy, Johnson City and Evelyn Blevins, Lexington, NC. We love you papaw, your grandchildren and great grandchild, Brittany Miller, Emily Miller, Lori Jenkins, Christy Harrison, Janson Miller, Anastasia Miller, Olga Miller and Svetlana Miller and great grandchild, Ashlyn Harrison. A funeral service for Mr. Miller will be conducted at 9 PM Sunday, March 11, 2007 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Hank Smith, Reverend Kenneth Grindstaff and Reverend Roy Yelton will officiate. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held Monday, March 12, 2007 at Monte Vista Memorial Park at 2:30 PM under the direction of Kingsport VFW Post#3382. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 2 PM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Harold Neal, Brian Harrison, Shawn Jenkins, Carl Sneyd, Jason Miller and Robbie Malone. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Reece, Ralph Cooper, Dale Ball, Dr. David Freemon, Frank Casteel and Cecil Casteel. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home. The family expresses a special thanks to the Johnson City Medical Center and the staff on the 5500 floor for all the special care they gave Mr. Miller. Special thanks to all of the staff of the Johnson City Medical Center Hospice for the good care they gave to Mr. Miller
