Lottie Virginia Osborne

Lottie Virginia Osborne, age 94, of Johnson City, died Monday, March 25, 2019 at her home in Johnson City. Lottie was born May 10, 1924 in Hawkins County, to the late James Allie Smith and Hattie Virginia Wagner Smith. She married Carl Osborne on September 29, 1951. Lottie was a member of Watauga Flats First Church of God. She was a homemaker and a resident of Johnson City since 1950. Lottie loved to garden and work on the farm. She religiously fed and tended to the dairy cows. Lottie also enjoyed cooking meals to feed her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and she lovingly cared for Carl until his death in 2010. In addition to her parents, Lottie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Osborne; an infant son, Willie Ray Osborne; daughter, Georgia Marie Dougherty; three sisters, Lizzie Phipps, Vesta Mullins, and Faye Housewright; three brothers, Elmer Smith, Rholand Smith, and Dallas Smith; and two sons-in-law, Curtis Sammons and Ricky Hall. She is survived by her children, Homer Lee (and wife, Tonya) Osborne of Kingsport, Brenda Sammons of Jonesborough, Benny Ray (and wife, Tammy) Osborne of Johnson City, and Martha Pearl Hall of Jonesborough; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; and one sister, Anna Belle Carter of Church Hill. The family of Lottie will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, officiated by Reverend Donnie Humphrey. A committal service will be held afterward at 3:00 pm at Roselawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are directed to Caris Hospice and Watauga Flats First Church of God. Memories and condolences may be shared with the Osborne family via morrisbaker.com.
