Mrs. Lou Ann Hodge, age 75, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013 in the NHC HealthCare Center. Mrs. Hodge was native of Bristol. She was the daughter of the late Roy S. King and Mary Fleenor King. In addition to her parents, her husband, of forty-six years Dewey 'Bud'? Hodge; one brother, James Buddy King also preceded her in death. Mrs. Hodge was a homemaker and former business owner. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church, Bluff City, TN. Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Dobbs and her husband Pete; one sister, Linda Brittenham and her husband Jack; one brother, Dickey King and his wife Linda; one sister-in-law, Louise King; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends, Alan and Jean Dobbs of Nottingham, England; special 'grand-doggie', Chloe. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at NHC HealthCare for their loving care and support. The funeral service for Mrs. Lou Ann Hodge will be conducted at 8 PM Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Dr. Bill Christian will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Dodd King, Mike Davenport, David Lindamood, Don Pickle, Coy Webb and Steve Price. Honorary pallbearers will be Richie King, Rodney Ferguson, Jonathan Snapp, Charles Mayes, Buddy Franks, Chris Moody and Dr. Jeff Farrow. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:45 AM Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure of the Tri-Cities, 301 Louis Street Suite 304, Kingsport, TN 37660.
