Madelyn Luttrell Neal

December 17, 1931 — April 8, 2019

Madelyn Neal, 87, of Johnson City, was called to her eternal home with God on Monday, April 8, 2019. She was born on December 17, 1931 to the late Willis Frank and Lucy Beals Luttrell.
She was the wife of 71 years to Argil Kenneth Neal, and together they were dedicated members of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was a woman of steadfast faith and lived her life for Christ.
Along with being involved with her church and singing in the choir, she enjoyed reading, baking, sewing, and cooking. She was a very talented flower gardener and was always proud of her beautiful rose bushes. Above all else, though, she most loved and selflessly dedicated her time and life to her family. She will forever be remembered by her husband and five children for the sacrifices and hard work she continuously did to take care of them. She was very involved with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family loved her immensely, and will sorely miss her loving, gentle presence.
Along with her husband, she is survived by: her children; Kenneth (Dean) Neal; Kathy (Steve) Shoun; Linda (Richard) Squibb; Alan Neal; Sandy (Delbert) Smith; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Claude Luttrell; and sister, Gene Chapman. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Scott Michael Squibb; 5 brothers: Ancil, Willis, LeRoy, Ralph, and Paul Luttrell; and 2 sisters, Martha Leonard and Opal McGee.
Although there will be no formal visitation, a service will be held at Morris Baker Funeral Home on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 2:00 PM, conducted by Pastor Bob Grimes and Reverend Joshua Light. A private family burial will take place at a later time. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Neal, Alan Neal, Nick Smith, JC Hunt, Wesley Squibb, Greg Neal, and honorary pallbearers Delbert Smith, Richard Squibb, Steve Shoun, and Chad Fleenor.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Westminster Presbyterian Church’s Mission Fund, 2343 Knob Creek Road, Johnson City, TN 37604.
