Mamie Mills Feathers, 93, of Greeneville, passed away Monday July 31, 2006 at the Crestview Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Home in Lancaster, OH. She was a native of Baileyton, TN, and had resided in Greeneville and Johnson City except for a 15 year period in Daytona Beach with her 2nd husband. She was preceded in death by two husbands, her first husband, Jesse A. Mills; and her 2nd husband, James B. Feathers; she was also preceded in death by two brothers, George D. Cox and Rev. Glen Cox. Mrs. Feathers was a daughter of the late Charles and Effie Parker Cox. She had retired from Klopman Mills after 32 years of service and started as one of the original Rosie the Riveters, replacing men at the plant during WW II. Mrs. Feathers was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Greeneville. Survivors include one daughter, Sally Mills Kalan, Lancaster, OH; one son, Robert Aaron Mills, Johnson City; four grandchildren, Sabrina Caponigro, of Westerville, OH, Vicki Basore and her husband, Michael, and Robert Aaron Mills II and his wife, Luann, and Christopher Mills, all of Johnson City; two great grandsons, Colin Michael Orr, of Zionsville, Ind., And Ian Andrew Leach, of Westerville, OH; three sisters, Irene McLean, Edith Mays and Patsy Pates, all of Greeneville; numerous nieces and nephews throughout GA, FL and TN.
