Margaret Louise Laws

Margaret Louise Jones Laws, 82, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 in Gray, TN. A native of Johnson City, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Ella Stout Jones. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Ray Laws, two sisters, Mary Ann Huskins and Dorothy Jones; and three brothers, William, Ralph and Darrell Jones. She retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center after 25 years of service. She was a member of East Pine Grove Park United Methodist Church, having joined within its first year, and having went to school on the grounds on which the church was built. She was a member of the Ida Saylor Circle and the church choir. She sang with the Johnson City Senior Center Musical Voices and sang bluegrass music in partnership with her husband for many years. She was a Girl Scout member of troop 76 through her granddaughters troop and then her great granddaughters troop. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Honeycutt and her husband Ron and son, Larry Laws and his wife, Angie; nine grandchildren, Wade Honeycutt, Rhonda Robertson, and Linda Gordon; Amber Harris and Brittany Trivette; Amber Houk, Jeremy Collins and Steven Houk; eleven great-grandchildren Doug and Taylor Honeycutt, Braydon and DJ Robertson, Keith and Emily Gordon, Haley Laws, Christian and Skieler Trivette, Hunter Houk and Ashlyn Riddle. She is also survived by three brothers Paul and his wife Joyce, Dean and his wife Mary, and Larry and his wife Elizabeth Jones and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 7:30 pm on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 on Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Lon Tobin will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeff Murray and Grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be members of East Pine Grove Park United Methodist Church. The family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
