Margie Wilson Grant, 71, 610 Ridgeview Drive, Johnson City died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Grant was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late James H. Wilson Sr. and Mamie Grindstaff Wilson. She was a retired employee of Sprint with 30 years of service in network engineering. Mrs. Grant was of the Presbyterian faith. She was a writer of poetry and published some of her work. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James H. Wilson Jr. Survivors include: her husband of 49 years, James E. Grant Sr., of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, James E. Grant Jr., of Johnson City, and Michael T. and wife, Leann Grant, of Murfreesboro, TN; five brothers, M.D. Wilson, of Johnson City, Walter Wilson, of Grass Valley, CA, David Earl Wilson, of Kingsport, Sunny Wilson, of Johnson City and W.J. Wilson, of Asheville, NC; three sisters, Kathleen Sneyd, of Mooresville, NC, Helen Adams, of Johnson City, and Elizabeth Lothery, of Norton, NC; one granddaughter, Makenzie Grant, of Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Margie Wilson Grant will be conducted at 7:30 P.M. on Friday, April 1, 2005, in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. John Gullett will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 A.M. Honorary pallbearers will be Garnett Day, Joe Slonaker, Norman Duncan, Richard McCray and Robert King. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 7:30 P.M. Friday prior to the service.
