Marilyn Mitchell Black, 59, 2822 Brown?s Mill Road, died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Black was a Kingsport native and had lived in Johnson City for the past 23 years. She was a daughter of the late Ralph C. Mitchell and Dorothy Smith Mitchell. Mrs. Black was retired from Eastman after 37 years of service. She attended University Parkway Baptist Church. Mrs. Black is survived by her husband, Ralph Black; one sister, Margaret Chambers, Knoxville; aunt, Cordia Bellamy, Kingsport; aunt and uncle, Clyde and Jessie Mitchell, Kingsport and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mrs. Black will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, May 24, 2005 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Pastor Michael Oakes will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Monte Vista Memorial Park Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dustin Fleenor, Dwayne Fleenor, Bill Longworth, Tim Ford, Charles Black and Harold Reese. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105
