Marjorie T. Garland

Marjorie T. Garland, 79, 1103 King Springs Road, Johnson City died Sunday, June 4, 2006 in the Asbury Place in Johnson City. Ms. Garland was a native of Chesnee, SC and came to Johnson City in 1932. She was a daughter of the late Claude and Inez Ezell Tabor. Ms. Garland was a graduate of Science Hill High School and also a 1949 graduate of East Tennessee State College with a degree in education. She taught first and second grades in the Johnson City Schools for over forty years retiring in 1992. Ms Garland was a member of the University Parkway Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by: her parents; by one son, Roger Guy Garland and his father H.H. Garland; and one brother, George Tabor. A favorite saying of Ms. Garland was 'One of these days I will be promoted to Heaven.' The graveside service for Marjorie T. Garland will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday, June 6, 2006 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Mr. Scott Thompson will officiate. Interment will follow in Monte Vista. Friends may pay their respects and register at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11AM to 1 PM.
