Martha Chambers Cady

Martha (Chambers) Cady, age 84, of Elizabethton, died peacefully on December 9, 2021 at Hermitage Health Center.

She was the daughter of the late Nathan and Bonnie (Birchfield) Chambers, born and raised in Carter County. She lived for many years in Flint, Michigan, and the last 27 years in her native Elizabethton.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: brother, JB Chambers; and sisters, Eva Tolley and Volena Woodby.

Those surviving include her three sons: Harold Rex and his wife Betty Jo of Michigan, Charles Rex and his wife Stacey of Michigan, and Dan Rex and his wife Brigitte of Michigan; seven grandchildren, Jamie Pyburn, Jordan Rex, Jack Rex, Gabriella Cliffords and her husband Kelly, Isaiah Rex, Grace Rex and Clare Rex; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Goldie and Ray Davis, Barbara and Earl Lacey, and Judy Smith; one brother Nathan Chambers Jr; and several nieces and nephews.

Martha will be laid to rest at Happy Valley Memorial Park following a private family gathering.

The family would like to thank Hermitage Health Care for caring for Martha for several years.
