Martha Essie Winters Yelton

August 19, 1917 — March 10, 2006

Martha Essie Winters Yelton, 88, 310 Clearview Drive, Johnson City went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to be with those who have gone on before her, from the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Yelton was a native of Mitchell County, NC and had lived in Johnson City since 1942.She was a daughter of the late James and Ella Phillips Lee. Mrs. Yelton was a retired dietician from the Johnson City Medical Center and was a member of the First F.W.B. Church. She is preceded in death by: her parents; a son,Wade Yelton; five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include : three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Yelton of Vancouver,Canada, Richard and Pauline Yelton of Pensacola,FL , Ronnie and Kong Cha 'Kim' Yelton of Johnson City; three daughters and sons-in-law, Francis Sue Street of Johnson City, Lavenia Ann and Mike Claman of Rainbow City, AL. and Barbara and Ted Crincoli of Swansee,IL; her former husband, Howard Yelton of Johnson City; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Martha Essie Winters Yelton will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday,March 12, 2006 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff and Rev. Jack Calahan will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM Monday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Everyone will meet at Morris-Baker at 12:30 PM Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Sunday prior to the service.
