Martha M. Crookshanks

Martha M. Crookshanks, 92, NHC Healthcare 3209 Bristol Hwy., Johnson City, died Wednesday, February 7, 2007 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Crookshanks was a native of Cleveland, Ohio and had lived in Johnson City since 1937, and was a daughter of the late Albert Charles and Margaret Jones Moskopp. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband William A. Crookshanks in 1997 and a sister. She was a graduate of Vanderbilt University in 1937 as part of the first class to receive a Bachelor of Science with a Nursing Degree. She retired as a registered nurse from the James H. Quillen Veteran?s Administration Medical Center at Mt. Home. She was a member of the Jonesborough Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: a daughter, Margaret Yates of Johnson City; a granddaughter, Sharon Harper and her husband Matt of Atlanta, GA, a grandson, David B. Yates and his wife, Kristi of Atlanta, GA; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Martha M. Crooksshanks will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 10, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Beth Yarborough will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:30 until time of service at 1:00 PM. A committal service will be conducted in the Monte Vista Memorial Park following the funeral.
