Marvin Bright Jeffers

October 15, 1925 — January 30, 2006

Marvin B. Jeffers, 80, of Four Oaks Health Care Center, 1101 Persimmon Ridge Road, Jonesborough, TN., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 30, 2006 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mr. Jeffers was a native of Greene County, TN and had lived most of his life in Washington County, TN. He was a son of the late Worley R. Jeffers and Selma B. Alexander Jeffers. He was a laborer on various jobs throughout his life. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jeffers is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lucille Showman Jeffers in 1995, three brothers, one sister and a grandson, Daryl Lynn Saults. Mr. Jeffers was a member of the Faith F.W.B. Church. Survivors include: two sons and and daughters-in-law, Gary W. and Judy Jeffers of Telford, Danny and Nola Jeffers of Limestone; three daughters and a sons-in-law, Linda Jeffers of Telford, Barbara and Kyle Sneyd of Telford, and Patsy Saults Broyles and husband Tony R. Broyles, Sr. of Limestone; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Chesney, Kelly Greene, April Jeffers, David ,Chris, and Dustin Saults, Benjamin Sneyd, Megan Jeffers, and Josh Sneyd; six great grandchildren, Keawana and Daniel Greene, Jada Helton , David Helton, Dalton Jeffers, and Travis Saults, ; a very special friend Ruth Quick; a longtime dog companion, Rebel; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Marvin B. Jeffers will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, February 2, 2006 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Glenn Hoilman will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM Friday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 12:30 PM Friday to go to the cemetery in procession. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, David Saults, Chris Saults, Dustin Saults, Benjamin Jeffers, Josh Sneyd, and other family members. Honorary pallbearers will be John Douglas and the employees of the Four Oaks Health Care Center. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Thursday prior to the service. Other visiting hours will be at the home of a son, Gary W. Jeffers, 172 Slate Hill Road, Telford. The family requests to those who desire, memorials may be sent to the Four Oaks Health Care Center, 1101 Persimmon Ridge Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659. These gifts will be used for patient activities.
