Mary Louise Payne

Mary L. Payne, 65, of 1111 E. Jackson Blvd., Jonesborough, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at her residence following a long illness. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late Gurney L. and Lurlie E. Campbell Morgan. Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of God?s House in Bristol. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamala D. Payne; two brothers, Robert and Roy Morgan and a sister Helen Morgan. Survivors include: her husband, Pastor Sidney Payne of the home; a daughter, Carolyn P. McMurray of Telford; three grandchildren, Jason, Morgan and Nichole; a great grandson, Elijah; a sister, Ann Wetherington and her husband, Robert of Johnson City; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jack Morgan of Knoxville; Teddy and Cathy Morgan of Jonesborough and Tony and Mildred Morgan, a sole surviving aunt, Willie Mae Barnett of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mary L. Payne will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday, March 25, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Sidney Payne will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 10AM Monday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 AM Monday to go in procession . The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Sunday prior to the service
