Mary Ruth Simerly

Mrs. Mary Ruth Simerly, 84,Piney Flats, died Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at her brother, Walter?s, residence in Lawrenceville, GA. Mrs. Simerly was a native of Rogersville, had lived in Baltimore, MD for many years and in Piney Flats for the past few years. She was daughter of the late James Robert Bass and Elizabeth Lane Bass. Mrs. Simerly was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eugene Simerly in 2001 and two brothers, Robert Bass, Jr and Roy K. Bass. She was a retired from Northside Hospital where was employed as a switchboard operator. Mrs. Simerly was a Baptist. Survivors include one brother, Walter T. Bass and his wife Mary, Lawrenceville, GA; one niece, Ramona Lynn Redmond and her husband, Wayne, Hendersonville, TN; sister-in-law, Helen Bass, Hendersonville, TN; one nephew, Walter A. Bass, Snellville, GA; two great nephews and one great niece and several cousins. A funeral service for Mrs. Simerly will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, September 28, 2006 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Friday, September 29, 2006 at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 PM and travel in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
