Mason Glen Roark

March 23, 1916 — August 29, 2006

Mason 'Glen' Roark, 90, of 606 Orleans Street, Johnson City died Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at the Life Care Center of Gray. Mr. Roark was a native of Creston, N.C. and had lived in Johnson City since 1943. He was a son of the late Murphy and Catherine Elizabeth Jones Roark. Mr. Roark was a retired diesel mechanic with over 35 years of service with E.T. and W.N.C. Transportation. He was a charter member of the Pentecostal Church of Johnson City. Mr. Roark is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, granddaughter, two sisters, one brother and a daughter-in-law. Survivors include: his wife of sixty-seven years, Beulah Fowler Roark of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and R.L. Mackley of Chesapeake, VA., Joyce and Spencer McCool of Armanda, MI; one son, Paul Roark of Church Hill, TN; ten grandchildren; twenty-one Grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister, Mabel Wyatt of Abingdon, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mason 'Glen' Roark will be conducted Friday, September 1, 2006 at 1 P.M. in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Bob McCool and Rev. Spencer McCool will officiate. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Grandsons. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6 t0 8 PM Thursday evening.
