Maymie Maupin

August 18, 1912 — January 4, 2006

Maymie Eggers Maupin, 93, 1504 Squibb Drive, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Maupin was a daughter of the late Conley and Lottie Davis Eggers and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Maupin in 1978, one sister, Frances Perry, one brother, Willard Eggers and one great grandson, Joshua Maupin. She was a native of Mabel, NC in Watauga County and had lived in Johnson City since 1948. Mrs. Maupin was a member of King Springs Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Maupin is survived by one son, Cecil Maupin and his wife, Barbara, Johnson City; seven daughters, Bonnie Campbell and her husband, George, Johnson City, (a special daughter and caregiver) Anna Maupin, Johnson City, Lillian Oliver and her husband, Wayne, Johnson City, Betty Ferguson and her husband Carl, Gray, Louise Thompson and her husband, Richard, Johnson City, Margie Barry and her husband James, Gray and Viola Verran, Johnson City; one sister, Gladys Ragan, Paramount, CA; one brother, Jessie Eggers, Edgefield, SC; seventeen grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a special friend Clayton Campbell. A funeral service for Mrs. Maupin will be conducted at 3 PM Saturday, January 7, 2006 from the Morris Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Darrell Slagle Jr. will officiate. Graveside services will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until service time. Pallbearers will be James Barry, Richard Thompson, Wayne Oliver, Carl Ferguson, George Campbell, Clayton Campbell, Jonathan Barry and Clark Verran.
