Michael Dawn Garland

Michael D. Garland, age 68, of Johnson City, TN passed away May 8, 2020 at Signature Healthcare of Greeneville, TN.

He was born on April 15, 1952 in Johnson City and he was the son of the late Fonzy Garland and Willa Mae Vines.

Michael graduated from Science Hill High School in 1970 and from ETSU in 1974. He retired from Galax City Health Department in Galax, Virginia.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his great nephew, Baby Sam Krouse.

Michael is survived by his sister, Judy (and husband, Jerry) Krouse of Johnson City; brother, Jim (and wife, Earlene) Garland of Chandler, NC; nephew, Kevin (and wife, Emily) Krouse of Belmont, NC; niece, Sophia Krouse; and great nephews, Jack and Joseph Krouse.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, May 11, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Monte Vista Memorial Park under the direction of Rev. Jeff Davis. Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Krouse, Kevin Krouse, Isaac Phillips, Jim Garland, Lamar Black, David Lyons, and Mark Lyons.
