Minnie Gladys Whittimore

Mrs. Minnie ?Gladys' Whittimore, 92, of Johnson City, died Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. Gladys was a native of Erwin. She was a daughter of the late Alvin and Edith Furches Johnson. Gladys was a homemaker and a member of Grace Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Harold Whittimore; son, Gregory K. Whittimore; and brother, William T. Johnson. She is survived by: one son, Keith Whittimore and his wife Gerri, of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Steven Whittimore and his wife Michelle, of Murfreesboro, and Kimberly Dawn Paul and her husband Allen Paul, of Johnson City; six great grandchildren, Jackson, Levi, Addisyn, Piper, Adryan, and Darrien; niece, Ann Robinette, of Powell; and special friend, Tenna Eades. The family of Mrs. Minnie ?Gladys' Whittimore will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, July 19, 2016, in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Rev. Harold McNabb will officiate. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker by 10:15 AM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Samaritan?s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
