Mollie Shelton Collins, 99, 2336 West Brooklane, Johnson City died Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the residence. Mrs. Collins was a native of Marshall, NC and lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Bayless and Isabelle Shelton. Mrs. Collins was a faithful, longtime member of the Brookmeade Church of Christ. She retired from J.C. Penney?s Co. as head of the Alterations Department in 1971. After her retirement, she worked as a seamstress for Darden?s Clothing, retiring a second time at the age of 80. Mrs. Collins is preceded in death by: her husband, Ben Collins in 1972; a daughter, Aileen Clark in 2005; one grandson, Jeff Haren in 1989;one great grandson, Michael Wayne Clark in 1999; one great granddaughter, Star Haren in 1988; four brothers and five sisters also precede her in death. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Burl Crawford, Mildred and Carl Ingram, and Mary Haren all of Johnson City. Eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and four great- great grandchildren also survive. The funeral service for Mollie Collins will be conducted at 8 PM Monday December 19, 2005 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Mr. Wayne Boswell, minister of the Fall Branch Church of Christ, and Mr. Kevin Kay, minister of Brookmeade Church of Christ will officiate. Congregational singing of Mrs. Collins favorite hymn 'Sing to me of Heaven' will be included in the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM , Tuesday in the Roselawn Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the funeral chapel at 12:30PM Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Phil Clark, Steve Clark, Tony Clark, Darrin Crawford, Brad Haren, Billy Haren, and Ben Livingston. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Martin, Ben Rodgers, and members of the Brookmeade Church of Christ. The family will receive friends in the Morris-Baker North Chapel from 6 to 8 PM Monday. Friends may visit at the home of a daughter Mary Haren, 2336 W. Brooklane, Johnson City at anytime. The family wish to express a special Thank You to Johnson City Medical Center Hospice for their loving care and support.
