Morris J. Greene, 77, 702 Hiwassee Hills Drive, died Friday, November 16, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Greene was a Bakersville, NC native and had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was a son of the late London Greene and Dolly Greene Burleson and the late stepfather, Milt Burleson. Mr. Greene was preceded in death by three brothers, Maloy Greene, Dennis Greene and Bobby Greene. He was retired from Pet Dairy Incorporated after 35 years of service. Mr. Greene was a member and inactive deacon at Pinecrest Baptist Church and a former member of Milligan Free Will Baptist Church. He was a US Army veteran. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Anne Greene, of the home; his son, Stephen Morris Greene, Elizabethton; a sister, Ruby Garland, Johnson City; two brothers, Arthur L. Greene and his wife Sue, Lake Charles, LA and Billy Ray Burleson, Charleston, SC; two sisters-in-law, Beulah Greene, Johnson City and Betty Greene, Charlotte, NC; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service for Mr. Greene will be conducted at 3 PM Sunday, November 18, 2007 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Gary Thacker and Reverend John Perkins will officiate. Graveside services will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be selected from friends. The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Pinecrest Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2129 Old Lewis Road, Johnson City, TN 37601 or Southside Baptist Church Mission Center, 1928 Wheeler Street, Johnson City, TN 37604. The Greene family would like to extend a special appreciation for the loving care and support given to them by the Johnson City Medical Center Hospice, the VA Medical Center, their church friends and neighbors. Peggy Mckinney, Debbie Bardo and several care givers have been especially supportive to the family.
