Edith Marie 'Pete' Munday, 83, 3324 Greenwood Dr., died early Wednesday morning, May 10, 2006 at NHC Healthcare after a short illness. A Johnson City native, Miss Munday was a daughter of the late Roy and Lenos (Harmon) Munday, Sr. She was an active member of Southside Baptist Church and had worked as a sales clerk in the Housewares Department at Kress Department Store for twenty-five years. In addition to her parents, Miss Munday was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Munday. Survivors include three sisters and a brother-in-law, Hazel Carden, DuBuque, IA, Emily Wilson, Atlanta, GA, and JoAnn and Frank Meroney, Johnson City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Margaret Munday with whom she lived for the past several years, and David and Melina Munday, Chattanooga. She was also a beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. A funeral service for Edith Marie Munday will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 8:00 PM from the Morris Baker South Chapel. Rev. John Perkins will be the officiant. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for two hours prior to the funeral, or anytime at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Margaret Munday, 3324 Greenwood Drive. Graveside committal services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Monte Vista Burial Park. Herman Cox, James Woodard, Johnny Ayers, Matthew Richardson, Dakota Bragg, and Sherry Taylor will serve as honorary pallbearers. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 AM. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, 1928 Wheeler Street, Johnson City, TN 37604.
