Muriel Dean King

Muriel Comer King, 72, of 617 Ridgeview Avenue, Johnson City, died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late, Robert G. and Hallie Mae Watson Hicks Comer. Muriel was a homemaker and member of the Snow Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Earlie Hicks, Clarence and Thomas Wayne Comer and a sister, Clara Comer. Muriel was an award winning artist, musician, stained glass artist, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Robert L. King of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Garrett D. and Kathy E. King of Johnson City, Paul and Linda G. King of Telford; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela K. and Ed Napier of Johnson City, Janet and Afred 'Al'? Bevins of Piney Flats; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and JoAnn Painter Comer of Jonesborough; nine grandchildren, Jeff McCorkle, Erica Stacy, Aaron Bryant, Chaz, Rylee, Bryce, Otha, Boston and Rob King; three great grandchildren, Kaleb and Emma Stacy and Sophia McCorkle; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, May 13, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.in the North Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Robert English. There will be no visitation. A committal service will be conducted on Monday, May 14, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
