Muriel Comer King, 72, of 617 Ridgeview Avenue, Johnson City, died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late, Robert G. and Hallie Mae Watson Hicks Comer. Muriel was a homemaker and member of the Snow Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Earlie Hicks, Clarence and Thomas Wayne Comer and a sister, Clara Comer. Muriel was an award winning artist, musician, stained glass artist, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Robert L. King of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Garrett D. and Kathy E. King of Johnson City, Paul and Linda G. King of Telford; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela K. and Ed Napier of Johnson City, Janet and Afred 'Al'? Bevins of Piney Flats; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and JoAnn Painter Comer of Jonesborough; nine grandchildren, Jeff McCorkle, Erica Stacy, Aaron Bryant, Chaz, Rylee, Bryce, Otha, Boston and Rob King; three great grandchildren, Kaleb and Emma Stacy and Sophia McCorkle; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, May 13, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.in the North Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Robert English. There will be no visitation. A committal service will be conducted on Monday, May 14, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Snow Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 2201 Knob Creek Road, Johnson City, TN 37604.
