Myrtle K. Scott

Myrtle K. Scott, 84, died Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Scott was a native of Cocke County and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late David Crockett Keller and Chipty Moore Keller. One son, Lawrence Scott Jr, one sister, Erie Hinkle and five brothers preceded Mrs. Scott in death. She was a retired textile worker. Mrs. Scott was of the Christian faith. Survivors include five daughters, Sharon Elliot, Johnson City, Rita Witmer, Orrville, Ohio, Susan Sheets, Jonesborough, Judy Jones, Johnson City and Kathy Scott, Johnson City; three sons, Tommy Scott, Hendersonville, Tenn., Robert Scott, Johnson City and Johnny Scott, Johnson City; one sister, Agnes Jones, Johnson City; twenty two grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Scott will be held at 1PM Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Sheets Cemetery. Reverend Lenny Smith will officiate. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery at 12:45 PM. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home
