Naomi Bradford Carver

April 26, 1913 — December 21, 2008

Naomi Bradford Carver, 95, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at the Johnson City Medical Center with family by her side. Mrs. Carver was a native of Dry Creek, W.VA, where she grew up and raised her eight children. She lived a short time in Beckley, W.VA and moved to Johnson City to reside in 1973. She was a daughter of the late William T. and Rebecca Jane Clay Bradford. Mrs. Carver was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles Lee Carver; a son-in-law, Wayne Isaacs; and thirteen brothers and sisters. She was a member of Clark Street Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Mildred C. Pratt, and her husband, Mervin H., Johnson City, William 'Bill'? Wesley Carver, and his wife, Phyllis, Roswell, GA, James Harold Carver and his wife, Loretta, Johnson City, Teddy Gordon Carver, nesborough, Ruth C. Isaacs of Elizabethton, Charles Joe Carver and his wife, Linda, Johnson City, John Lee Carver and his wife, Rene, Columbia, Missouri and Tommy Ray Carver and his wife, Anne Marie, Powder Springs, GA; eighteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. An entombment service for Mrs. Carver will be held at 2 pm Friday, December 26, 2008 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pastor Mike Anglin will officiate. A procession to the Happy Valley will depart Morris-Baker Funeral Home at 1:30 pm. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1pm Friday at Morris-Baker. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Clark Street Baptist Church, Building Fund, 200 Clark Street, Johnson City, TN 37604. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the attention and tender care shown to Mrs. Carver by Pam Brown, RN, Leilani Vanhoy, RN, Tony Meza, RN, Amanda Rowlette, CNA, and Alexis Pennington, RN on the second floor at Johnson City Medical Center.
