Naomi Jean Sampson

March 22, 1942 — January 31, 2014

Mrs. Naomi Jean Sampson, age 71, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014, at her residence. Mrs. Sampson was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. She was the daughter of the late David B. and Ruth Arnett Sampson. In addition to her parents one daughter, Debra Ruth Smith; one son, Michael Carr; two brothers, James Sampson, and William Joseph Sampson; two infant brothers also preceded her in death. Mrs. Sampson was a graduate of Elizabethton High School in 1960. She was a member of N.G. Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Sarah Wells and her husband Vernon, and Ruth Armstrong; two brothers, Robert 'Bob'? Sampson and his wife Brenda, and Paul Sampson and his wife Annette; two granddaughters, Lisa Marie Smith, and Angela Gutierrez; five great grandchildren; special son-in-law, Miguel Gutierrez; several nieces and nephews. The family of Mrs. Naomi Jean Sampson will receive friends from 11 AM to 12 PM Monday, February 3, 2014 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 12 PM in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. James Cambron and John Paul Johnson will officiate. The interment will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
