Nelda Faye Young

Mrs. Nelda 'Faye'? Young, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Young was a retired social worker and counselor. She worked for the Department of Human Services prior to devoting over twenty years to Contact Concern in Kingsport, Tennessee. Survivors include: three daughters, Karen Lunsford and her husband Keith, Teresa Hampton and her husband Mike, and Samantha Young; three grandchildren, Jonathan Frazier, Jessica Frazier, and Nolan Lunsford; one great grandchild, Evelynn Frazier; two brothers, Don Shearin and Jerry Shearin; one sister, Martha Hale; several nieces and nephews; and many friends she loved as family. She was preceded in death by her father Harrison Jennings Shearin and mother Mary Helen Parker Shearin. The family of Mrs. Nelda 'Faye'? Young will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, September 19, 2014, at Morris-Baker. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pastor Lon Tobin will officiate. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker by 1:30 PM Saturday, to go in procession to the cemetery.
