Nelia Elizabeth Jones

Nelia Elizabeth Jones, 82, of 1101 Persimmon Ridge Road, Jonesborough, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 21, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late, John Lester and Lula Toohey Graybeal. Mrs. Jones had been a Nurse and retired from the State of Tennessee at Green Valley Developmental Center. She had also worked for the old Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Jonesborough United Methodist Church. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years James S. Jones in 2004. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Pat Graybeal and by one sister, Mary Humphrey?s. Survivors include; one son, James L. Jones and his wife, Linda of Telford; three daughters, Ann Shipley and her husband David of Gray, Linda Reynolds and Jeanne Broyles and her husband Rick all of Jonesborough; one sister in law, Francis Graybeal of Piney Flats; Eleven grandchildren, Michelle Damron and her husband Jack, Emily Broyles and Mikayla Broyles all of Jonesborough, Sean Reynolds and his wife Melissa of Applegate, Clifornia, Seamus Reynolds and his wife Angel of Johnson City, Erin Matherly and her husband Greg of Johnson City , Joey Broyles of Johnson City, Scott Shipley and his wife Julie of Morristown, New Jersey, Lori Wooten and her husband Jeff of Gray, Karey and her husband Jeff Spear of Johnson City, Alex Jones and Nicholas Jones both of Telford; fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 24, 2006 from the Jonesborough United Methodist Church at 8:00 PM. Dr. Brad Scott and Rev. Amy Cook will officiate. Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday from the New Bethel Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Scott Shipley, Seamus Reynolds, Joey Broyles, Nicholas Jones, Jeff Wooten, Jeff Spear and Greg Matherly. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer?s Association, 207 N. Boone Street, Johnson City, TN 37604 or to the Medical Center Hospice, 400 N. State of Franklin Road, Johnson City, TN 37604. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday.
