Nellie C. West

Nellie C. West, 69, 1906 Fish Pond Road, Chucky, TN died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. West was a native and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Floyd and Mae Presley Rosenbaum. Mrs. West was retired from the Greene Valley Development Center and attended the New Beginnings Church in Limestone. She is preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Bud Rosenbaum and Floyd David Rosenbaum; one sister Ruth LaScala; three grandchildren, Alex Shelton, Noah West, and Haley Stumbo. Survivors include: her husband William West of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nellie and William 'W.R.' Shelton of Limestone and Jeanette and Gary Basinger of Telford; two sons, Danny and Donnie West,both of Chucky; three brothers, Dannell Rosenbaum,Timmy Rosenbaum and Marvin Rosenbaum,all of Johnson City; five sisters, Mabel Walker,Midge Miller and Ruby Ledford,all of Johnson City, Betty Jean McGowan of California and Jane Pierce of Telford; eight grandchildren, Chris Basinger, Robbie Shelton, Andrew Shelton, Dale West, Ashley West, Amber Klein, Layla West, and Autumn Smith; thirteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Nellie C. West will be conducted at 1 PM Friday, January 26, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Jonathan Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in the Roseslawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Robbie Shelton, Andrew Shelton, Chris Basinger, David Hall, Jimmy Hall, Dale West, Danny West and John Klein. Honorary pallbearer will be Roy Shelton. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 7 to 9 PM Thursday.
