Noah Sherman Miller

Noah Sherman Miller, 82, 811 Sumpter Road, Kingsport, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Asheville, NC. Mr. Miller was a native of Washington County who had lived most of his life in Washington County. He was a son of the late Frank C. and Effie Larrimer Miller. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. He was retired from the military, having served both in the US Army and US Air Force. Mr. Miller was a member of Trinity Church of the Brethren. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca S. Miller; step-daughter, Rhonda Pendleton and step-son, Richard Sumpter, both of Kingsport; two step-grandchildren, Jeffrey Pendleton and Stephanie Pendleton, both of Kingsport; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mr. Miller will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday, July 15, 2007 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Brother Homer Jones and Bo Deaton, minister will officiate. Military graveside honors, under the direction of the Tennessee National Guard and the Kingsport VFW Post#3382, will be held at 11 AM Monday at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. A military color guard will serve as active pallbearers. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
