O. Evangeline Shinn, 77, of Johnson City, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, March 8, 2015 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Evangeline was a native of Pike County, KY. She was a daughter of the late William ?Bill' and Almedia Bartley Martin. She was a member of Lone Oak Christian Church. In addition to her parents, Evangeline was preceded in death by her husband, Don K. Shinn, Sr.; one son, William ?Billy' Shinn; and two sisters, Emigene Walker and Baby Martin. Survivors include: children, Don Shinn, Jr. and his wife ?Cricket', Dorinda Keck and her husband Wesley, Kenneth Shinn, Robert Shinn, and her faithful dog and companion, Charlie; two brothers, Farrell Martin and Wayne Martin; two sisters, Ivolene McDaniels and Gwen Coleman; four grandsons; six granddaughters; five great granddaughters; and one great grandson. She was loved by many nieces, nephews, and her Lone Oak Christian Church family. The family of Evangeline Shinn will receive friends from 6 pm until 7 pm Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Lone Oak Christian Church. The funeral service will follow at 7 pm Tuesday at the church. Pastor Tad Johnson and Pastor Noah Taylor will officiate. The committal service is scheduled for 1:45 pm Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Mountain Home National Cemetery. Ministers, family, and friends are requested to meet at Mountain Home at 1:30 pm for those services.
