Orie Arthur Dalton, Jr., 75, of 1704 Paty Drive, Johnson City died Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Dalton was a native of Hurt, Virginia and had lived in Johnson City for thirty-one years. He was a son of the late Orie A. Dalton, Sr and Sally Roark Dalton. Mr. Dalton was a retired plumber. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Dalton is preceded in death by: his parents; and one brother, Leo Dalton. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include: his wife, Juanita Gardner Dalton of the home; two sons, Ricky and wife Robin Dalton of Abingdon, Maryland and Kirby Dalton of Jonesborough, TN; one daughter, Bobbie Jo and husband, Lee Fling of Maryville, TN; three grandsons, Dustin Dalton of Roxboro, NC, Weston Dalton of Jonesborough, TN and Cody Fling of Maryville, TN; four granddaughters, Chelsey Dalton of Hickory, NC, Randi Dalton and Casey Dalton both of Abingdon, Maryland and Caylee Fling of Maryville. The funeral service for Orie Arthur Dalton, Jr. will be conducted at 7 PM Thursday, February 1, 2007in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Bob Edmonds will officiate. The committal service will be held at 1 PM Friday, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by the VFW Post 3382 and the Tennessee National Guard of Kingsport. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 12:55 PM Friday for the service. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 7 PM Thursday prior to the service. Active pallbearers will be Don Hollifield, Johnny Troutman, Rob Davis, Randy Gardner, Mark Gardner, Brandon Myers, Michael Keller, Chris Gardner, Bart Gardner, and Shane Gardner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Myers, Jerry Keller, Kenny Gardner, Terry Myers, Wade Gardner, Homer Gardner, and Roger Gardner.
