Oscar Dalton Blevins, Jr. 90, of Johnson City, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Johnson City and a son of the late, Oscar and Oda Jackson Blevins, Sr. Mr. Blevins was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Matson Blevins. He was also preceded by four brothers, Jack and Bill Blevins and Charles and Harvey Hester, also one sister, Helen Hester Lewis. He retired from the Johnson City Press in the Composing Department. Mr. Blevins was a U. S. Army veteran and served in WW II and in the Korean War. Survivors include; one daughter, Anne Blevins Fanning and her husband, Ed of Charlotte, NC; one son, Mark Blevins and his wife, Janet of Knoxville, TN; one brother, Earl Blevins of Johnson City; two Grandchildren, Troy Blevins and his wife, Karri and Tracey Blevins; 3 Great Grandchildren; Tyler, Katelin and Kaylee. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Monday, December 6, 2010 from the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. James Cambron will officiate. Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Alan Fann, David Fann, Adam Fann, Tony Hensley, Troy Blevins, Horace Lloyd and Ted Walters. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00pm Monday.
