Otis Doyle Holsclaw, 81, Johnson City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, with his loved ones by his side. He retired from Easy Painter after 35 plus years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, races and being with his family. Born on December 22, 1936, in Traphill, NC, son of the late Linny and Maggie Holsclaw. He was preceded in death by: his loving wife of 50 years, Margaret Ann Lee Holsclaw; four brothers, James Holsclaw and his wife Shirly, Arvel Holsclaw and his wife Opal; Linvelle Holsclaw and his wife Brenda, Bert Holsclaw and his wife Betty Jo; three half-sisters, Hazel Miller, Myrtle Lee Riddle and Mammie Austin and her late husband Vestal; one son, Junior; and one daughter, Debra. Survivors include: one daughter, Loretta and her husband Carlos McNabb; one son, Doyle and his wife Tammy Holsclaw; four brothers, Robert and his wife Hilda Holsclaw, Larry and his wife Derina Turner, Lawrence and his wife Hilda Holsclaw, Curtis Austin, William and his late wife Betty Holsclaw; three sisters, Diane and her late husband Johny McChone, Rachel Dodson, Martha and her husband Larry Waller; five grandchildren, Joshua Collins, Rodney Armstrong, Jr., Tina and her husband Roger Julian, Tasha and her husband Johnathan Dyks and Issic Holsclaw; and ten great grandchildren. The family would like to express how thankful they are to Avalon Hospice for their care and compassion during a difficult time. The family of Otis Holsclaw will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Friday, June 8, 2018, at Morris-Baker. The funeral will follow at 8 PM with Pastor Kenneth Grindstaff officiating. Pallbearers include: Roger Julian, Rodney Armstrong, Jr., Issic Holsclaw, Johnathan Dyks, Doyle Holsclaw and Kenneth Lowery. A committal service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet at Morris-Baker by 10:45 AM to go in procession. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Otis?s name are asked to be made to a charity of your choice.
