Ovdia M.Duncan, age 91, of 2930 Watauga Road, Johnson City died Sunday, November 5, 2006 in the Asbury Place in Johnson City. Mrs. Duncan was a native of Johnson County and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Robert O. and Eva Robinson Blackburn. Mrs. Duncan was a retired cafeteria manager at the former Barnes Elementary School. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Johnson City. Mrs. Duncan is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Claude M. Duncan in 1953; two sons, George Rice Duncan and Tony Richard Duncan; one daughter, Margaret Elouise Duncan; three brothers, Earl Blackburn, Edward S. Blackburn and Dewey Blackburn; one sister, Juanita Blackburn Lilly. Survivors include: four sons and daughters-in-law, Claude and Barbara Duncan of Johnson City, David Lee and Sandra Duncan of Nashville, TN, Thomas Franklin and Carolyn Duncan of Lula, GA, and Rev. William Lowell and Carolyn Duncan of Johnson City; two daughters-in-law, Christine Duncan and Dolores Duncan, both of Johnson City; twenty one grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Millard F. and Callie Blackburn of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Ovdia M.Duncan will be conducted at 8 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2006 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. William L. Duncan will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 AM Thursday. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday prior to the service.
