Pansy Barlow

Pansy G. Barlow, 92, 131 Spring Drive, died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Barlow was a Roan Mountain native and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late John and Myrtle Leonard. Mrs. Barlow was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Roy L. Barlow, one daughter, Charlotte Barlow, three brothers, George, Burley and Hubert Leonard, six sisters, Claira Freeman, Dorothy Leonard, Annie McKinney, Mamie Holly, Janie Head and Bessie Garland. She had been a member of Johnson City Church of God for 56 years. Mrs. Barlow was survived by one daughter, Faye Couch and her husband, Roy 'Bill', Johnson City; granddaughter, Angie Roberts and her husband Chris, Johnson City; grandson, Tony Cox, of the home; grandson, Gary Couch and his wife Kathy, Johnson City; granddaughter, Regina Proffitt and her husband, Dwight, Elizabethton; granddaughter, Elizabeth Miller and her husband, Lee Roy, OK; granddaughter, Patricia Bradley and her husband, Tommy, NC; grandson, Hershall Cox, NC; great grandchildren, Kelli Roberts, Brandon Austin, Christian Cox, Ethan Couch, David Proffitt and Shannon Proffitt; sister-in-law, Nell Bryant; several step great grandchildren, special nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service for Mrs. Barlow will be held at 2 PM Sunday, June 4, 2006 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend C. Bryant Collins and Reverend Russell Ward will officiate. Burial will follow in Onks Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wilburn Holly, Eddie Grindstaff, Charlie Hartley, Roman Holtsclaw, Toby Crain and Brandon Cox. Honorary Dwight Proffitt, Austin Cox, Ethan Couch, Mark Moffitt and friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday, June 3, 2006 and the funeral home.
