Paul Howard Smithpeters, Sr., 75, Johnson City, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016. Paul was born in Washington County to the late Edward and Helen Anderson Smithpeters. He was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord. Paul loved music. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. He was especially interested in astronomy. Paul was fascinated by the stars and often followed NASA. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by: one son, Paul Smithpeters, Jr., one granddaughter, Jennifer Smithpeters; one great granddaughter, Bobbi Jo Frances; one great grandson, Dreydan Roberson; and four brothers, David, Junior, Buddy and James Smithpeters. Survivors include: two sons, James and Jack Smithpeters; eight grandchildren, Jessica Smithpeters, Jeremiah Frances, Jack Smithpeters, Jr., Alecia and Daniel Smithpeters, McCoy and Brianna Roberson, and Heather Vanover; nine great grandchildren; four sisters, Bernice Keever, Betty Smithpeters, Mary Potter, and Lorretta Smithpeters; and two brothers, Mark and Raymond Smithpeters. The family of Paul Smithpeters will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Morris-Baker. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM with Mr. Richard Chapman officiating. Pallbearers will be selected by family. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Monday to go in procession to Washington County Memory Gardens for an 11:00 AM committal service inside the mausoleum chapel.

Paul Howard Smithpeters, Jr., 45, of Johnson City, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Johnson City, son of Joyce Green Perry and Paul H. Smithpeters, Sr. both of Johnson City. Preceding him in death was his wife, Lula Faye Smithpeters and a daughter Jennifer Ann Smithpeters. Paul had owned and operated two construction firms, House '? Tek and Extreme Construction. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors including his parents are: a son, Jeremiah Francis, a daughter, Jessica Kay Smithpeters, two brothers, Jack Edward Smithpeters and James Daniel 'Lee'? Smithpeters, his grandmother, Margaret Josephine Caldwell; four step children, Jerry Bishop, Donna Parker, Tammy Parker and Hazel Shipley. A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, January 2, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in the Washington County Memory Gardens, under the direction of Mr. Matthew Young. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. at Morris '? Baker Funeral Home until time to leave in procession to the cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Following the service the family invites visitors to: his Aunt Kathy Hills home at, 124 Ham Hill Rd., Johnson City.
