Paul Monroe Baker, 68, of Telford, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center.He was a Washington County native and a son of the late, Samuel Monroe and Eva Jane Carter Baker. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lee Stewart Baker, and by four brothers, Sammy Baker, Johnny Baker, Cecil Baker and Freddie Baker.Mr. Baker attended the Rich Acres Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren playing sports and spending time with his church family.Survivors include; six sisters, Hazel Wilson, Edith Bowman, Edna Nave, Jean Bennett and Naomi Freeman all of Johnson City and Mary Ann Street of Buladean, NC; his girlfriend, Elizabeth Garland of Johnson City and her children, Steve and Lisa Phillips and Susie and family; three Grandchildren, Elizabeth, Brandon and Abbi; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 8:00pm from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff and Rev. Bernie Jones will officiate. Burial services will be held on Sunday, at 2:00 pm from Highland Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 1:15pm Sunday and proceed to the cemetery.
