Pearl Lea Hammons

October 24, 1918 — December 20, 2007

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7. Pearl Lea Hammons, 89, 120 Hammons Road, Watauga, died Thursday December 20, 2007 at her residence. Ms. Hammons was a native of Johnson County who had lived in Watagua most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Lillard Thomas Hammons and Ollie Curd Hammons. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Faye Hammons and Ruth Irene Hammons and one brother, James Fred Hammons. She was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ. Survivors include: three sisters, Lucille Gibson, Dorthy Mullins and Verna Hammons all of Watauga; several generations of nieces and nephews; one special niece, Deb Taylor, of Watauga. The funeral service for Pearl Lea Hammons will be conducted at 3 PM Saturday, December 22, 2007 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Mr. Paul Peer will officiate. Active pallbearers will be the men of New Hope Church of Christ. Graveside services will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.
