Pearl V. Tester

January 29, 1921 — July 17, 2006

Pearl G. Tester, 85, 316 College Street, Piney Flats, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Tester was a native of Washington County, TN and had lived in Piney Flats most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Jack Andrew and Vicey Harvey Green. Mrs. Tester was a homemaker , formerly a nurse ,and member of the Piney Flats F.W.B. Church. She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Gomer Tester in 1995; a son, Jackie Vernon Green; a granddaughter, Cynthia Green; a great grandson, Michael Andrew Triplett; and nine siblings. Survivors include: grandchildren, Karen R. and her husband Michael Triplett of Johnson City, Leonard and wife Lisa Mandy of Gray, Jacqueline and husband Tommy Hill of Elizabethton, Michael and wife Terri Green of Johnson City, Jackie Green of Piney Flats and Kristen Hodges of Johnson City; great grandchildren, Heather Triplett, Brandy Adkins, Sheena Hill, Christopher Hill, Chasity Higgins, Michael Green, Brandon Green, Nickolas Green, Josh Jones, Seth Green , Judia Green, Taylor Hodges, Keely Hodges, and Jacob Wilcox; three great grandchildren, Cindy Higgins, Shannon Adkins, and McKenzie Green; one sister, Millidean Hodge of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside funeral service for Pearl G. Tester will be conducted at 3:30 PM Sunday, July 16, 2006 in the Shell Cemetery in Piney Flats. Rev. Larry Barr will officiate. Music will be by a granddaughter Karen R. Triplett, soloist, Joe Floyd, guitarist and the members of the Piney Flats F.W.B. Church. Everyone will go in procession to the cemetery after the visitation time. Active pallbearers will be Michael Triplett, Shawn Louis, Tommy Hill, Jim Gobble, Jack Green, Leonard Mandy, and Jimmy Adkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Martin Higgins, Rev. Steve Waycaster, and Harry Triplett. Interment will follow the service in the Shell Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 2 to 3 PM Sunday. Friends may also visit the family at the residence at anytime.
