Pearline Rush

Pearline Bowman Blevins Moore Rush, 84 of 1905 Preston Road, Johnson City, departed to meet her Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Hillview Healthcare Center in Elizabethton following an extended illness. Mrs. Rush was born in Mosheim, TN on May 29, 1922 and was the daughter of the late, John Thomas Bowman and Rachel Crowell Bowman. She worked for several years in restaurants in Johnson City. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter L. Blevins, 1958, Emmitt H. Moore 1969 and James Franklin Rush in 1995 as well as several brothers, sisters and half brothers and sisters. She was raised on Buffalo Mountain. Mrs. Rush moved to Johnson City in 1997 from Bristol, TN where she was a member of Rooty Branch Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Rush attended Johnson City Freewill Baptist Church and Milligan Freewill Baptist Church after moving to Johnson City. All who knew her will miss her greatly. She is survived by her daughter, Ruby Ellen Blevins Perry; her son, Buddy Lee Bowman, both of Johnson City; five grandchildren, Lisa Tipton, Jesse Bowman, Carolyn Hankes, David Perry and Joy Perry; eight great grandchildren Christopher Tipton, Thomas Tipton, Michael Tipton, Tyler Hankes, Shawn Hankes, Kaleb Perry, Nathaniel Perry and Noah Perry; several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, cousins and several nieces and nephews. Extended family in Greene County and many dear friends in Bristol that were family to her and made her part of their family. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday from Oak Hill Cemetery in Johnson City. Pallbearers will be family and friends of Mrs. Rush. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until 1:30 Wednesday. The family would like to extend their thanks to the friends and family that kept Pearline dear to their hearts and with their prayers. Also they would like to thank the staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital and the staff of Hillview Nursing Home of Elizabethton. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to, a Children?s Chairty.
