Ralph Clifford Reagan

Mr. Ralph C. Reagan, 86, of 1404 West Lakeview Drive, Johnson City died peacefully in his sleep Friday, February 6, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Reagan was a native of Seymour, TN and lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was the son of the late Lawrence Clifford and Neva Murrell Householder Reagan. Mr. Reagan left the family farm to join the Army Air Corps to serve as a crew chief on a B-24 and subsequently a pilot in WW II. He worked as an accountant at Eastman for many years, retiring in 1986. He was married for sixty-two years and was a loving husband and father. He served as deacon at Central Baptist Church and North Johnson City Baptist Church. An avid gardener, he also enjoyed keeping an immaculate lawn and rose garden. He will be sorely missed by his family and now is gone to be with the Lord. Mr. Reagan was a graduate of Harrison-Chilhowee Baptist Academy and the George Washington University. Mr. Reagan is preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, Ray Reagan; and one sister, Frances Reagan. Survivors include: his loving wife, Kate Reece Reagan of the home; one daughter, Susan Reagan Strickler of Knoxville; one son, David Ralph Reagan of Johnson City; four brothers, Frank Reagan of Knoxville, Carroll Reagan, Richard Reagan and Don Reagan, all of Seymour; three sisters, Imogene Smelcer, Charlotte Reed and Marilyn Davenport; five grandchildren; one great grandchild. The funeral service for Ralph C. Reagan will be conducted at 2 PM Monday, February 9, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. Ron Murray will officiate. Interment will follow in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 12:30 PM to 2 PM Monday prior to the service.
