Ralph Harold Grant

Ralph Harold Grant, 83, of 1327 Lynnwood Drive, Johnson City, died Monday, February 27, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Ralph was a native of Oteen, North Carolina who had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was a son of the late, Emmett Calvin and Ruth Mason Grant. Mr. Grant was a retired assembly line inspector for the Raytheon Company. Ralph was a member of the First Christian Church of Johnson City and the VFW. Mr. Grant was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U. S. Army in the Pacific Theatre, the Phillipines and the occupation forces in Japan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Anderson Grant in 1977 and a sister, Mary Mildred Grant Lacy. Survivors include: a stepson, James Harmon of Johnson City; two step daughters, Margaret Ann Chase of Jacksonville, FL and Jane Clark of Johnson City; two brothers, James E. 'Jim' Grant and Robert D. 'Bob' (& Janet) Grant all of Johnson City; three nephews, Bruce J. Lacy, Jr., James E. Grant, Jr. and Michael Troy Grant; two nieces, Deborah Venus Lacy and Kristin Grant Harmon; one great niece, McKenzie Ann Grant. A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. noon, Friday, March 3, 2006 in the South Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Mr. Steve Hill. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. A committal service will be conducted in the Monte Vista Memorial Park following the funeral service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
